Many individuals desire to have fuller, more appealing cheek structure or wish to correct gaunt, sunken cheeks and enhance cheek the overall contour. Correction and augmentation of the cheek area with dermal fillers or Sculptra® can create a subtle, yet dramatic improvement.
Another cosmetic problem in the cheek areas are facial thread veins/spider veins. They are relatively common they can cause a great deal of embarrassment and distress to sufferers. The medical term for this type of vein is telangiectasia and they may be hereditary, or acquired as a result of sun exposure, natural ageing or as part of the skin condition called rosacea. We have an excellent cream that can assist in the reduction of rosacea that works within 10 days.
They are injectable fillers made of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the body which biodegrades safely.
You may experience some discomfort during the treatment, but as the needle is so small, this is usually minimal. Numbing cream can be applied prior to treatment. Juvéderm® has got a small of amount of local anaesthetic in so this can assist with easing any discomfort. In addition, you a can have a small amount of local anaesthetic prior to treatment if you wish.
Everybody is different and your skin may bruise in this area. Applying a cold pack after treatment will help in reducing this. We would recommend that you take a few days off work. For example, if you work Monday to Friday and have the weekends off, it may be advisable to have treatment on a Friday and have Saturday and Sunday off and maybe the Monday. Remember, with bruising is that in most cases it can be slow to come out.

Our trained and experienced consultants and cosmetic nurse manager can see you for your cheek augmentation. A free consultation is available and you are under no obligation to have treatment on that day. It is an opportunity to ask all the questions you want.
Sculptra® is composed of a synthetic injectable material known as "poly-L-lactic acid, lactic acid, a material found in dissolvable stitches, soft tissue implants, and various other types of implants due to its biocompatible and biodegradeable properties. A natural form of poly-L-lactic acid is produced in the muscles during exercise.
Sculptra® is a filler product used for the restoration or correction of the signs of facial fat loss, skin folds, sunken eyes, hollowed cheeks and indented chin surfaces.
We will need to determine the amount of treatments needed to treat your facial fat loss during your initial consultation, as well as the amount of Sculptra you will need at each treatment session. Patients with severe fat loss may require anything from three to six treatment sessions. Touch-up treatments may be necessary to maintain the desired effect.
There is some discomfort but this is limited to the injection of the local anaesthetic. Due to the effects of the injection of local anaeasthetic it is be better to rest until the next day and return to work after 36 to 48 hours. The anaesthetic wears off about 6 hours after the procedure and you are advised to take some pain killers at about that time to prevent any discomfort. Please avoid using aspirin or non steroidal pain killers such as Brufen or Neurofen as these can cause more bruising. These medications are also best avoided for 1-2 weeks before the procedure in order to minimise bruising.
This varies depending on the patient. On average, results last for a period of two years.
Due to the immediate swelling from the procedure the final result will not be seen for about 3-4 days. During that time if there is any asymmetry this is usually due to the recovery from the procedure which will look normal by 4 days or so. You will be asked to sleep on your back and not on our side for 3-4 days in order to prevent the position of the Restylane SubQ from moving before it finally settles. During that time please avoid touching or massaging the cheek as this can also move the product from the desired position.

Telangiectasias are most commonly found in people with excessive sun exposure, rosacea, and with topical steroid use. They can occur spontaneously or in pregnancy, with oral contraceptive use, or in liver disease.
At Fresh we use a therapy called electrocoagulation (sometimes called diathermy). It is the passage of an electric current through the skin from a needle causing heat to be generated. The heat produced by the electrolysis current destroys the blood vessel. This then heals and the blood vessel is gone permanently. Although other vessels can form, the treated vessel destroyed by heat will never re-open again.
As each vein has to be treated in turn by following along the vein and treating it at regular, very small intervals it can take a long time and so in one session only a small area can be treated. A session can take up to 30 minutes.
The results are permanent, and once a vein or vessel has been destroyed, it will never return. However, the treatment is unable to prevent the development of additional veins in the future. Some patients could see new facial veins in the future, especially if they do not take care to protect their skin against harmful exposure to the sun. In addition to this, healthy lifestyles factor play a bit part in avoidance for the future.

You do not have to have problematic skin to have a microdermabrasion treatment. Microdermabrasion is an effective, non-surgical way to get rid of acne scars, blackheads fine wrinkles and sunspots by exfoliating the top layers of the skin. Microdermabrasion also stimulates collagen production, helping your skin rejuvenate faster than normal. It improves the overall condition of the skin without downtime.
20 - 30 minutes. Microdermabrasion has hardly any down time and you can have it done in your lunch hour. Everyone is different but after the treatment some patients can look like they have just popped in and out of a sauna for 5 minutes. You can wear make up afterwards but we would advise you to let your skin breath for a while before doing so.
However, if the goal is to get rid of acne, superficial acne scars, blotchy skin, large pores, age or sun spots, fine wrinkles or uneven skin tone and texture, you are a perfect candidate for microdermabrasion. All skin types can be treated with microdermabrasion. If you are pregnant or breast feeding we would advise not to have this treatment because of the risk of increase in pigmentation (dark patches). If you are taking Roaccutane for acne we would again not advise you to have this treatment until 6 months after completion of the course.

At Fresh Clinics we use a range of peels dependent upon your skin condition. You do not need to have problematic skin to have a safe medical skin peel treatment. Some patients like to have a mini boost peel (this is a lower percentage glycolic peel) to give them a “healthy glow” before a special event like a wedding or a party. We sometimes find that the weeks leading up to Christmas can be quite popular with people preparing to look good for festive parties and those relatives they have not seen in a while.
We use the Neostrata skin peel range which has been clinically-proven and developed by Dermatologist’s. It is a series of peels using AHA (alphahydroxy acid) glycolic acids. This peel is for people wanting the effects of a deeper skin peel via a series of superficial peels, enabling them to continue their social life without any visible peeling.
It can have a slightly stingy feeling but not for long.
You skin will look fresh, glowing and clean. There may be some mild pinkness but this will reduce by the time you have left the clinic. It is an excellent treatment.
Yes you can. There is no downtime and you can have this treatment done in your lunch break.
The Neostrata skin peel is safe and beneficial in improving the visible signs of aging or sun damaged skin and for the treatment of various dermatological conditions including acne, dry skin, hyperkeratosis and hyper-pigmentation. You do not need to have problematic skin to have a safe medical skin peel treatment.
