Nose Treatments

“Bunny lines” occur because of excessive creasing over a long period of time. Botox® injections significantly reduces this effect leaving your nose looking smoother.

Another cosmetic problem in the nose area are facial thread veins/spider veins. They are relatively common they can cause a great deal of embarrassment and distress to sufferers. The medical term for this type of vein is telangiectasia and they may be hereditary, or acquired as a result of sun exposure, natural ageing or as part of the skin condition called rosacea. We have an excellent cream that can assist in the reduction of rosacea that works within 10 days.

Botox®

How does Botox® work in the nose area for “bunny lines”?

Botox® blocks impulses from the nerve to the tiny facial muscles that are related to expression lines. Botox® relaxes the muscles so they do not contract. After treatment, the overlying skin remains smooth and unwrinkled while the untreated facial muscles contract in a normal fashion, allowing normal facial expression to be unaffected.

Does the treatment hurt in the nose area?

You may experience some discomfort during the treatment, but as the needle is so small, this is usually minimal.

How often do I need treatments in the nose area?

Botox® injections are a temporary solution for the treatment of dynamic muscles (the muscles of facial expression). The results last on average 3-4 months. The average client will need to have Botox® injections about 3 to 4 times per year. However, after three or four treatment sessions, some clients have experienced a more lasting effect.

Thread Vein Treatment
before and after

Facial thread veins/spider veins are relatively common they can cause a great deal of embarrassment and distress to sufferers. The medical term for this type of vein is telangiectasia and they may be hereditary, or acquired as a result of sun exposure, natural ageing or as part of the skin condition called rosacea. Fresh offer a wide range of skin care to assist with this problem that works within 10 days.

What causes visible facial veins?

Telangiectasias are most commonly found in people with excessive sun exposure, rosacea, and with topical steroid use. They can occur spontaneously or in pregnancy, with oral contraceptive use, or in liver disease.

How are facial thread viens treated on the nose?

At Fresh we use a therapy called electrocoagulation (sometimes called diathermy). It is the passage of an electric current through the skin from a needle causing heat to be generated. The heat produced by the electrolysis current destroys the blood vessel. This then heals and the blood vessel is gone permanently. Although other vessels can form, the treated vessel destroyed by heat will never re-open again.

How long will it take?

As each vein has to be treated in turn by following along the vein and treating it at regular, very small intervals it can take a long time and so in one session only a small area can be treated. A session can take up to 30 minutes.

How long do the results last?

The results are permanent, and once a vein or vessel has been destroyed, it will never return. However, the treatment is unable to prevent the development of additional veins in the future. Some patients could see new facial veins in the future, especially if they do not take care to protect their skin against harmful exposure to the sun. In addition to this, healthy lifestyles factor play a bit part in avoidance for the future.

Microdermabrasion

Fed up of blackheads?

Can never get rid of them all?

Blackheads are little bumps embedded into the pores of our skin. They are usually yellowish or blackish in color. They can be mild, moderate or severe.

Extraction

Let our cosmetic therapists help by the use of extraction. It is a simple procedure and no equipment is required, is safe and effective. The best results are achieved with a combination of microdermabrasion treatments.

What Is Microdermabrasion?

You do not have to have problematic skin to have a microdermabrasion treatment. Microdermabrasion is an effective, non-surgical way to get rid of acne scars, blackheads fine wrinkles and sunspots by exfoliating the top layers of the skin. Microdermabrasion also stimulates collagen production, helping your skin rejuvenate faster than normal. It improves the overall condition of the skin without downtime.

How long will it take?

20 - 30 minutes. Microdermabrasion has hardly any down time and you can have it done in your lunch hour. Everyone is different but after the treatment some patients can look like they have just popped in and out of a sauna for 5 minutes. You can wear make up afterwards but we would advise you to let your skin breath for a while before doing so.

Is Microdermabrasion Suitable For Me?

If the goal is to get rid of acne, superficial acne scars, blotchy skin, large pores, age or sun spots, fine wrinkles or uneven skin tone and texture, you are a perfect candidate for microdermabrasion. All skin types can be treated with microdermabrasion. If you are pregnant or breast feeding we would advise not to have this treatment because of the risk of increase in pigmentation (dark patches). If you are taking Roaccutane for acne we would again not advise you to have this treatment until 6 months after completion of the course.

Peels

At Fresh Clinics we use a range of peels dependent upon your skin condition. You do not need to have problematic skin to have a safe medical skin peel treatment. Some patients like to have a mini boost peel (this is a lower percentage glycolic peel) to give them a “healthy glow” before a special event like a wedding or a party. We sometimes find that the weeks leading up to Christmas can be quite popular with people preparing to look good for festive parties and those relatives they have not seen in a while.

What is it?

We use the Neostrata skin peel range which has been clinically-proven and developed by Dermatologist’s. It is a series of peels using AHA (alphahydroxy acid) glycolic acids. This peel is for people wanting the effects of a deeper skin peel via a series of superficial peels, enabling them to continue their social life without any visible peeling.

Does it hurt?

It can have a slightly stingy feeling but not for long.

What will I look like after a glycolic peel treatment?

You skin will look fresh, glowing and clean. There may be some mild pinkness but this will reduce by the time you have left the clinic. It is an excellent treatment.

Can I go back to work after a glycolic peel treatment?

Yes you can. There is no downtime and you can have this treatment done in your lunch break.

What are the benefits of a glycolic peel?

The Neostrata skin peel is safe and beneficial in improving the visible signs of aging or sun damaged skin and for the treatment of various dermatological conditions including acne, dry skin, hyperkeratosis and hyper-pigmentation. You do not need to have problematic skin to have a safe medical skin peel treatment.
