Aesthetic treatments constantly evolve, and staying ahead with the latest technology and techniques is important for business growth.

This month's Business Growth Webinar Series by Fresh Clinics, hosted by skin expert Steph Yalda, focused on the differences and applications of laser and IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) devices, and how they can boost the revenue and profitability of cosmetic clinics.

Meet Steph: Your Guide to Advanced Skin Treatments

Business Development Manager and Dermal Therapist, Steph, with over two decades of experience in the aesthetics industry, has been transforming skin and sharing valuable knowledge for years. "I started as a humble beauty therapist at seventeen, and my career has progressed ever since," she shared. Now, she works with our Members to demystify laser and IPL treatments, guiding them through these powerful devices.

Why Choose Laser or IPL?

One of the key takeaways from the Business Growth session was understanding when and why to opt for laser or IPL treatments.

Laser: Precision and Power

Laser stands for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation. It's a single-focused wavelength of light. "With laser, you have a very high level of precision," Steph explained. This makes laser devices ideal for treatments like:

  • Hair removal
  • Vascular lesion treatment
  • Tattoo removal

IPL: Versatility and Broad Coverage

IPL, on the other hand, uses a broad spectrum of light, making it versatile for treating various skin concerns simultaneously. "What's great about IPL is you can address many concerns in one session," Steph said. IPL can effectively treat:

  • Pigmented Lesions
  • Vascular Conditions
  • Skin Rejuvenation
  • Acne

Steph highlighted the importance of both technologies, noting that "you can have just an IPL device in your clinic because it will cover such a range of different treatments."

Key Considerations for Implementing Laser and IPL

Introducing these devices into your clinic requires careful planning and understanding of the technology. Steph emphasized a few critical points:

Safety First

Understanding the physics behind these devices and having proper training can prevent adverse events and ensure effective treatments.

For most devices, Steph recommends attending in-person training. "Go to the in-person training sessions, because you will be so much better and have a better understanding of how the device works."

Treatment Planning

A clear treatment plan tailored to each patient's needs is crucial. "Understanding the treatment journey of your patient and what you are trying to treat and why is how you make this a success," Steph advised.

Real Results & Revenue Potential

Steph shared impressive before-and-after photos demonstrating the effectiveness of these treatments. From reducing pigmentation and vascular lesions to significantly improving acne scars, the results speak volumes about the potential these devices hold.

Laser and IPL devices are transformative tools in the aesthetics industry, offering precise and versatile treatment options. With proper training, understanding, and a strategic approach to treatment plans, these technologies can significantly enhance the services offered at your clinic.
